Former Indian captain MS Dhoni, who is gearing up for IPL 2025 with Chennai Super Kings (CSK), has left for Delhi in the middle of CSK’s pre-season camp. Reports suggest that Dhoni is in the capital to attend Rishabh Pant’s sister, Sakshi Pant’s, wedding.

Dhoni’s Journey to Delhi

With IPL 2025 just around the corner, Dhoni’s sudden trip to Delhi has sparked curiosity among fans. However, sources indicate that the legendary CSK captain is set to attend the wedding celebrations of Rishabh Pant’s sister, Sakshi Pant, in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand.

Several top Indian cricketers, including Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and MS Dhoni, are expected to be present at the wedding, which will take place on March 12-13 at a private venue.

Will IPL 2025 Be MS Dhoni’s Last?

With Ruturaj Gaikwad officially named CSK’s new captain, questions remain over Dhoni’s IPL future. The 43-year-old was retained as an uncapped player by CSK for ₹4 crore, following an IPL rule allowing teams to retain players who haven’t played international cricket for over five years.

Since retiring from international cricket in 2020, Dhoni has only played in the IPL. In IPL 2024, he was crucial in the finisher’s role, scoring 161 runs at a staggering strike rate of 220, remaining unbeaten in eight out of 11 innings.
