In a significant move during the IPL 2025 mega auction, Delhi Capitals secured Indian opener KL Rahul for ₹14 crore. Starting with a base price of ₹2 crore, the bidding began with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), quickly followed by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
The bidding intensified as RCB pushed the price higher before eventually bowing out. Delhi Capitals entered the competition, facing a brief challenge from KKR before they also withdrew. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) then joined the fray but could not surpass Delhi’s aggressive bid of ₹14 crore.
