In an unusual and unfortunate moment during the Gujarat Titans vs Punjab Kings match at the Narendra Modi Stadium, a senior policewoman patrolling near the boundary line was struck by a powerful six hit by Marcus Stoinis. The incident occurred during Mohammed Siraj’s over when Stoinis muscled a length delivery over deep mid-wicket for a flat six.
The ball, hit with immense power, went flying directly towards the boundary and struck the police officer on the leg as she walked sideways, unaware of the incoming ball. The moment stunned the crowd and officials, as it’s extremely rare to witness such an incident involving on-ground security personnel during live play in the IPL. The officer, though visibly in pain, appeared to be attended to immediately by those nearby. We hope she is doing fine and recovers quickly.
