In the recently ended IPL auction, the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Punjab Kings (PBKS) purchased eight players in preparation for the 2024 competition. The largest acquisition made by the franchise was Indian medium bowler Harshal Patel (Rs. 11.75 crore), who was followed by South African batsman Rilee Rossouw (Rs. 8 crore) after a heated bidding battle with the Delhi Capitals during the accelerated auction.
Together with a group of homegrown talent, England all-rounder Chris Woakes was also purchased for Rs. 4.20 crore.
