The youthful wicket-keeper batsman Kumar Kushagra, who cost Rs. 7.20 lakh, was DC’s most expensive acquisition.
Jhye Richardson, an Australian, and Harry Brook, an explosive English batsman, are both joining the Delhi-based team. While the latter is probably going to serve as Anrich Nortje’s backup, the former is expected to immediately integrate into the team.
The availability of captain Rishab Pant, who is anticipated to recuperate in time for the upcoming season, will be crucial for DC. One could view Kushagra’s insertion as a backup plan in the worst-case situation.
