Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have signed Aarya Desai from Gujarat for the remainder of IPL 2023, according to a media release from the IPL. The 20-year-old cricketer will join the team for INR 20 Lakh, although the statement did not reveal the name of the player being replaced. It is speculated that he will fill in for Shakib Al Hasan, who is currently unavailable due to international commitments and personal reasons.
Desai, who made his First Class debut for Gujarat earlier this year, has scored one fifty in three appearances. KKR have won two out of their three matches so far and currently sit in fourth place on the points table.
