In the recent match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR), Ravichandran Ashwin made a significant contribution to CSK’s success by dismissing Ajinkya Rahane for the fifth time in the IPL.

The dismissal came in the 10th over of the match when Ashwin bowled a carrom ball that caught Rahane off guard. Rahane premeditated a sweep shot, but the ball was too full, and he ended up playing all over it. The ball struck him low on the pad and was right in front of the stumps, crashing into the leg stump. Umpire Vinod Seshan made the right call, and Rahane was given out LBW, scoring 31 runs off 19 balls, including two fours and one six.

This was not the first time that Ashwin had dismissed Rahane in the IPL. In fact, Ashwin has dismissed Rahane five times in total, three of which were at Chepauk. Only Bhuvneshwar Kumar has dismissed Rahane more often in the IPL, with a total of six dismissals.
