However, it was revealed that Dhoni played the IPL 2023 innings with an injured knee, which surprised the fans. During the innings, commentators noticed that he refused to take quick singles and convert ones into twos, which is unusual for him. Dhoni is known to be an active player who never leaves a chance to score, whether it’s a six or a quick single. But on Wednesday night, he was not running to the best of his abilities.

A day after the match, CSK posted a video of Dhoni limping as he walks back to the dressing room. They captioned it as: “A warrior. A veteran. A champion – The One and Only!” The video shows the pain that Dhoni is enduring while walking, which could be due to his knee injury.
Dhoni’s injury could be a matter of concern for CSK as they will be playing more matches in the tournament. Fans will be hoping that Dhoni recovers soon and continues to lead the team from the front. Despite the loss, CSK fans are proud of their captain’s efforts, and his determination to play through an injury is admirable.
