The Royal Challengers Bangalore will start their IPL journey against Punjab Kings on March 27. This match of Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings will be played at DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai from 7:30 pm. This will be the first time since 2013 that Virat Kohli will not be the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore and the team will play under the captaincy of another player. In this year’s Tata IPL, all the teams have been divided into two groups. The Royal Challengers Bangalore has been placed in Group B, which includes RCB along with Punjab Kings, Gujarat Titans, Chennai Super Kings, and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Royal Challengers Bangalore are yet to announce their new captain and Virat Kohli will also play as a player for RCB for the first time since 2013.
RCB has bought some interesting players in this year’s IPL mega auction which include Sri Lankan spinners Wanindu Hasaranga, Dinesh Karthik, and Josh Hazlewood. RCB has also bet on Faf du Plessis in this year’s mega auction and it is expected that Faf du Plessis will be seen captaining RCB in this year’s IPL.
