Shimron Hetmyer of the Rajasthan Royals has been one of the team’s most consistent performers so far in the Indian Premier League 2022 season. His consistency can be seen in the fact that he is the leading batsman in terms of most sixes hit in death overs this season.

This season, the left-handed batter has smashed 19 maximums in the death overs. He has played an important role in the team’s triumphs in all of their games and progression to the finals.

Hetmyer, who was purchased by the Royals for Rs 8.5 crore in the IPL 2022 mega auction earlier this year, returned to Guyana for the birth of his baby boy only days after helping RR to a win over Punjab Kings on May 8. He returned to the squad for their last match against Chennai Super Kings and continued to be in the form for the team.

Hetmyer will be seen performing for the Royals in their final clash against the Gujarat Titans on Sunday (May 29) at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, with the hopes of helping the squad win the title.

This will be a rematch after the teams met in the first Qualifier, which GT won by 7 wickets while chasing a 189-run total in 19.3 overs. The Royals also won the second qualifier by 7 wickets over Royal Challengers Bangalore. For the very first time since 2008, RR has qualified for the tournament finals. Overall, this will be the third encounter between the two teams this season, with GT having won the prior two. Both sides have a solid squad, so this may be an exciting battle.
