The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League is scheduled to start in the month of April. The registration for IPL auctions on February 18 has some new enrollments and some notable names. Some surprise entries also came into the picture. Arjun Tendulkar, son of Sachin Tendulkar gave his name in the auction along with a well-known player S Sreesanth, who was banned from the IPL for many years.

Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc has stayed away once again from the auctions. Arjun Tendulkar enlisted for a base price of 20 lakhs. Arjun is a left-arm seamer and can bat as well. He also played in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Tournament earlier this month for Mumbai and has been seen training with Mumbai Indians for a few months.

Sreesanth, who was banned from international cricket because of the spot-fixing in 2013 IPL, recently made his comeback in the domestic cricket. He played for Kerala in the recent Syed Mushtaq Ali Tournament. Former Indian pacer enrolled for a base price of 75 lakhs.

Kedar Jadhav and Harbhajan Singh who have been released by Chennai Super Kings put their base price of 2 crores in the IPL auctions. Harbhajan was presumed to get retire from the franchise cricket after the skipped IPL 13 which was played in the United Arab Emirates, but it has emerged that he had only taken a break.

Border-Gavaskar Trophy heroes Hanuma Vihari and Cheteshwar Pujara also registered. Vihari enrolled for the base price of 1 crore while Pujara only registered for 50 lakhs. International stars like Glenn Maxwell, Steve Smith, Mark Wood, and Moeen Ali have all given themselves a base price of 2 crores.

The IPL auctions registration closed on February 4 with a total of 1097 players enrolled. The auction is all set to held on February 18, which will start from 3 pm. A total of 814 Indians and 283 overseas will be the part of cash-rich league’s auction.
