Rahul Tewatia (born 20 May 1993) is a 27 year-old Indian cricketer who represents Haryana in the domestic cricket and Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League. Rahul Tewatia was born in Faridabad, which is the most populous city in the Indian state of Haryana. Rahul showed the desire to play professional cricket from a very young age.
Tewatia made his debut for Haryana during the 2013-14 Ranji Trophy on 6 December 2013 against Karnataka at the Bansi Lal cricket Stadium in Haryana. He managed 17 runs total in his two appearances with the bat. He made his List A debut for Haryana in the 2016-17 Vijay Hazare Trophy on 25 February 2017.
Over the years Tewatia has gained his reputation as a cameo specialist in the white-ball format of the game in the domestic circuit. Tewatia has an impressive batting average of 37.23 in List A cricket and a batting average of 27.30 in T20 cricket. Tewatia is also a good enough leg-break bowler having an average of 24.70 in List A cricket and an average of 23.56 in T20 cricket with the bowl in hand. Tewatia is yet to score a half-century against his name in First-class cricket and yet to register a century in any format of the game; which is why he would like to refer to himself as more of a bowling-all-rounder.

At the domestic stage Tewatia has always represented his home state of Haryana. Before the 2014 edition of the IPL, the Rajasthan Royals bought Tewatia. In February 2017, he was bought by the Kings XI Punjab for the 2017 edition of the IPL. In January 2018, he was bought by the Delhi Daredevils in the 2018 IPL auction. In November 2019 before the 2020 Dream11 IPL, he was traded to Rajasthan Royals.

Tewatia’s reported salary for the IPL 2020 is a whooping 3 crore Rupees, which is quite a substantial amount when considering that he is an uncapped player at the International stage.

The undoubtedly most special highlight of Rahul Tewatia’s career came on 27th September 2020 in the Indian Premier League against the Kings XI Punjab as Tewatia was playing for the Rajasthan Royals.
Rahul Tewatia scored 53 runs in just 31 balls as he helped RR chase a target of 224 runs in 20 overs. Tewatia smashed 7 sixes in total. The biggest spectacle of the game was that Tewatia found himself scoring just 8 runs off his first 19 balls at one stage in the game. However, he managed to turn the tables around as he smashed 5 sixes in one over scoring 30 runs in Sheldon Cottrell’s over which ultimately led to the victory for the Royals.

In List A cricket Tewatia has 3 half-centuries against his name with his best score being 91* (* refers to not out). In domestic T20 cricket he has a single half-century to his name which is also his best score at 59*. Tewatia also has an important highlight in First-class cricket with the ball as he managed to pick up 7 wickets in an innings conceding just 98 runs.
