Mumbai Indians superstar all rounder Hardik Panya said he was more excited than nervous to play the most celebrated cricket tournament in UAE.
Star Indian and Mumbai Indian all- rounder Hardik Pandya said that he is looking forward to play in the upcoming edition of IPL in UAE rather than being rattled and hitting the panic button amidst the corona virus fear. The COVID-19 Pandemic has been in the limelight time and again with the news of players and staff members tested positive for corona virus ahead of the tournament which gets underway on 19th September.
“More excited than nervous because a good 10 months I have been training and looking forward to play so the portion where the nervousness comes or the pressure comes has gone away. I am just more excited to be on the field and implement what I have worked on with regards to my training part, the practice sessions”, said Pandya while speaking to ANI.
‘ Luckily we made a gym in the house due to the COVID-19, we weren’t allowed to go out of the house so we focused and realised a lot of things to improve on. Because all of that hard work and preparation and thought process, it is just that I am very excited to implement what i have worked on’.
The Mumbai Indians players reached UAE ahead of the tournament for their preparations and are staying at St Regis, Saadiyat Islands in Abu Dhabi. Captain and opener for Mumbai Indians Rohit Sharma and co will be more focused and determined on performing well in the tournament as they are favourites to win the celebrated tournament, Mumbai Indians have won the title four times as the champions and this campaign they will be looking to defend the title as they are the reigning champions. The IPL 2020 Finals will be played on a weekday and the tournament decider will be played on the day of Diwali i.e. November 10.
