Chris Gayle achieved another feat in Kings XI Punjab’s last match against Rajasthan Royals. He became the first batsman to hit 1000 sixes in T20 cricket. Although his team lost, the universe boss played a superb knock and scored 99 runs. Usually a very calm player, Gayle showed his anger on being dismissed at 99 and missing onto his century. He swung his bat and the bat flew towards mid-wicket.
He has been fined 10 per cent of his match fee for breaching IPL code of conduct during the match played in Abu Dhabi. He definitely missed on his century but achieved another feat which is historical.
He was bowled out by Jofra Archer who he later shook hands with after losing control of his willow. Gayle has been a very dominant batsman and his domination is proved by how Kieron Pollard who is second in the list with 690 sixes to his name.
