Sanju Samson is one player to watch out for this season. With his exemplary performance against one of the best teams in the league, a lot of eyes have turned towards him. In the opener against Chennai Super Kings, Samson was on fire as he hit sixes like it was a child’s play. He scored 74 runs in that match and helped RR reach a huge score which was impossible for Chennai to chase.
Samson was picked by Rajasthan Royals in 2013 and made his IPL debut for the side. The wicketkeeper-batsman was selected as the best young player of the IPL in the same year through a poll conducted by the official IPL website. In 2016 he got picked by the Delhi Daredevils for 4.2 crores and in 2017 he scored his maiden IPL century against MS Dhoni-led Rising Pune Supergiants.
in 2018 he was bought back by RR at a price of Rs 8 crores and since then has been with side. He has been one important batsman for the franchise and has performed in crunch situations. He plays an important role from behind the stumps and has affected several stumpings. After his performance in the opening match, Captain Steve Smith and the squad will be looking for big numbers from the batsman in the tie against KXIP as well.
