With a slow start from Delhi Capitals, the franchise was unable to set up a big target for the opposition. After winning the toss skipper Shreyas Iyer decided to bat first but lost the top order early with only Shikhar Dhawan standing till the end. Even though Dhawan scored 69 runs, it seemed like a slow inning. Shreyas Iyer was also good with the bat and scored 42 runs before being dismissed.

Mumbai Indians were decent with the ball and restricted the table-toppers at a mere 162 runs which seemed easy to chase with their batting powerhouse. Although the skipper Rohit Sharma who was playing his 150th match for MI went back cheaply for just 5 runs. Quinton de Kock and Suryakumar helped make the chase easier with their half-centuries.

A thriller match ended with Pollard and Krunal Pandya taking the game home for Mumbai Indians.MI won the match by 5 wickets with de Kock and Suryakumar being the top scorers with the bat. With this win, Rohit Sharma led MI has reached the top of the table with DC moving to the second spot.
