Chennai Super Kings won the match and opted to bowl first against Kings XI Punjab. A relief for Punjab fans as they saw KL Rahul walk out with Mayank Agarwal who was out due to an injury. A good start from the opening pair gave confidence to KXIP. Different to what KXIP would have wanted, Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul’s wicket fell in succession. The West Indies firepower was on the pitch but they also returned to the dugout quickly. A definite scare for KXIP and their chances of qualifying.

Lungi Ngidi and Tahir were amongst the wicket-takers for CSK and no credit can be taken away from CSK’s efforts. Deepak Hooda has kept Punjab’s hope alive as he scored 62 runs off 30 balls after a batting disaster by the experienced batsman of the team. KXIP set a score of 153 for CSK to chase. KL Rahul will want his bowlers to take control and bring the game home.
