In a video posted by the official Instagram account of Mumbai Indians, Zaheer Khan and Robin Sharma talk about Mumbai Indians legacy. The side has won 4 trophies in total which is the highest for any franchise. The team has had legendary players such as Sachin Tendulkar, Lasith Malinga amongst the others. Batting coach Robin Singh spoke about franchise cricket in its initial days. “Franchise cricket was extremely new to most of us in 2008-09. I joined in 2010 and then MI wasn’t doing too good. We focused on getting a lot of young players in the side trying to build a team futuristically”.

the team has the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya who are all representing the Indian side in today’s date. They were all found and brought to the national selectors’ attention while they played for Mumbai Indians. They were found by the Mumbai Indians talent scouts.

“2010 was Mumbai Indians turnaround year, you can say where the owners got involved. People were identified in the management group, the leadership group of players, the core team and small, minute details were looked in a different light and I think that’s where the results started showing” said Zaheer Khan who was earlier a player and now is the director of cricket operations for the side.

“ The one family narrative fits in perfectly with this franchise. They live by that, we all live by that and we believe in it very strongly,” he added. Mumbai Indians and Chennai super kings ill play the opener match on 19th September. The IPL will be played completely in UAE as it shifted from India due to the rising seriousness of COVID-19 in India.
