
BCCI on Tuesday (February 1, 2022) announced the Indian Premier League’s auction list for the upcoming season of 2022. The auctions will be held on February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru as the two-day Mega Auction includes a total of 590 players who will be excited to go under the hammer as ten franchises await to build a balanced and competitive squad.
With two new teams – Ahmedabad and Lucknow added in the IPL 2022 this year’s auction might witness being more competitive as some of the biggest stars in cricket and freshly talented players might have higher chances to showcase their performance and ability to be a successful player.
A list of 590 players includes 228 capped players and 355 uncapped players, the rest of the 7 being from Associate Nations.
The Mega Auction includes some fierce talents and big names in the cricketing world from the hosting country India as Shreyas Iyer, Shikhar Dhawan, R Ashwin, Mohammad Shami, Ishan Kishan, Ajinkya Rahane, Suresh Raina, Yuzvendra Chahal, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, Ishant Sharma, and Umesh Yadav are likely to be picked up by the respective buyers.
Apart from the Indian players some of the successful overseas players will also go under the hammer in this season as Faf du Plessis, David Warner, Pat Cummins, Kagiso Rabada, Trent Boult, Quinton de Kock, Jonny Bairstow, Jason Holder, Dwayne Bravo, Shakib Al Hasan, and Wanindu Hasaranga can be a strategic buy for the 10 teams.
The Under-19 Indian stars Yash Dhull, Vicky Ostwal, Rajvardhan Hangargekar can get a debut opportunity in the exciting cricket league. Some of the freshly capped and experienced IPL players Devdutt Padikkal, Harshal Patel, Krunal Pandya, Shahrukh Khan, Deepak Hooda, Avesh Khan might also be looking to get cashed in.
