Dawid Malan has set the cricketing world alight ever since making his T20 debut for England against South Africa in 2017. The left handed batsman has earned the no.1 ranking in T20s as he achieved the highest ever points for a batsman in T20 international rankings in the series vs South Africa. Malan has now surpassed former T20 World No.1 Babar Azam by 44 points.
Malan scored 55 in 40 balls in the 2nd T20 but his highlight of the series was his swashbuckling 99 off 47 in the 3rd T20 that included 11 fours and 5 sixes.
Malan has scored 855 runs in 19 T20 internationals at an average of 53.44 which is quite absurd for a batsman in T20s. He has also scored 9 50s and a century at a strike rate of 149.48.
With the Mega Auction coming up for the IPL in 2021, a lot of teams may view Malan as a marquee player. Considering his stats, Malan may end up being one of the most expensive players in the history of the Indian Premier League.
