Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs has appointed an interim committee, headed by former Sri Lanka captain Arjuna Ranatunga, to oversee the operations of Sri Lanka Cricket.
This move comes after the suspension of the executive committee due to allegations of irregularities, corruption, misconduct, and dereliction of duties and responsibilities.

The Sports Minister, Roshan Ranasinghe, has entrusted the interim committee with the responsibility of conducting an independent and transparent investigation into the alleged irregularities and submitting a detailed report.
The committee has been granted the authority to take necessary actions and implement recommendations outlined in a special audit report issued by the Auditor General on September 11, 2023.
In addition to addressing the ongoing issues, the interim committee has been mandated to propose recommendations and establish effective administrative measures to prevent future mismanagement within Sri Lanka Cricket.
