India’s largest cricket stadium to be built in Amaravati with ICC’s nod, set to host 2029 National Games

India is set to witness the rise of its largest cricket stadium as the International Cricket Council (ICC) has given its formal go-ahead for the ambitious project in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh. Once completed, the stadium will boast a seating capacity of 1.32 lakh, surpassing the current record held by the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) had earlier announced its intention to build the stadium at an estimated cost of Rs 800 crore, with the venue forming the centerpiece of a sprawling 200-acre sports city. According to reports by MyKhel, the stadium will be ready ahead of the 2029 National Games, offering a state-of-the-art infrastructure capable of hosting all formats of international cricket.

  • Eco-friendly construction with sustainable energy practices

The ACA has requested 60 acres of land from the Andhra Pradesh government and is expected to secure financial support from the BCCI, supplemented by local fundraising initiatives.

This landmark project is poised to redefine the cricketing landscape in southern India and further strengthen India’s global sporting presence.
