Indian leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi switches to Gujarat for domestic cricket season

Indian leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi has left Rajasthan and will now represent Gujarat in the upcoming domestic cricket season.

While the Gujarat Cricket Association officials have not officially confirmed the move, Bishnoi himself posted a picture on Instagram wearing the Gujarat colors with the caption, “New beginnings…”

Bishnoi, who has already played 10 T20Is and one ODI for India, made a mark in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with 16 wickets for the Lucknow Super Giants.

However, he struggled to find opportunities with his home state, Rajasthan, in the Ranji Trophy last season and had to sit on the bench despite playing in Jodhpur, his hometown.

Limited playing time led the young cricketer to make the decision to move on from Rajasthan. Bishnoi is currently attending the pre-season camp in Ahmedabad and will be coached by former India international Ramesh Powar.

He was also part of the India U-19 team that reached the final of the 2020 World Cup.
