The Indian Cricketers’ Association (ICA), on Tuesday, issued a statement mentioning the condemnation of the “threatening” message to veteran wicketkeeper/batsman Wriddhiman Saha by a senior Indian journalist and welcomed the BCCI decision to probe the issue.
The ICA has urged the body to take the strictest possible action in the matter and also proposed to cancel the journalist’s accreditation to all BCCI events if required.
The press release by the ICA comes after the tweet shared by Wriddhiman Saha, on Saturday, showing screenshots of the threatening messages by the senior Indian journalist. Saha expressed his disappointment towards journalism in his tweet.

Rahul Dravid opened up on Saha’s comments, stating “I think he deserved honesty and clarity and I didn’t want him to read it from media. It’s about conversations I constantly have with players. I don’t expect players to always agree with everything I say about them.”
ICA president Ashok Malhotra said that the occurrence with Saha is not acceptable and ask the respective organisation to take care of the happening as it should not be repeated. He also stated that ge would like Saha to disclose the name of the journalist.
Meanwhile, the ICA Secretary Hitesh Majumder also provided full support to Saha and said , “No player should be subjected to such ‘threats’ from anyone in the media or elsewhere.
