The India vs Pakistan encounter at the Asia Cup 2025 in Dubai has prompted the local authorities to put extraordinary security measures in place. With emotions expected to run high, Dubai Police have warned of severe penalties for misconduct inside the stadium.
According to Gulf News, Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations at Dubai Police and Chairman of the ESC, said that offenders will face “the strictest action.” Pitch invaders and those carrying banned items, such as firecrackers, could face one to three months of imprisonment and fines ranging from Dh5,000 to Dh30,000. Acts of violence, including throwing objects or using racial slurs, carry fines between Dh10,000 and Dh30,000.
A list of prohibited items has also been released, including flammable materials, lasers, umbrellas, selfie sticks, large cameras, sharp objects, remote-controlled devices, glass items, and even bicycles or scooters.
The high-stakes clash, scheduled to begin at 8:00 PM IST, will be the first meeting between the two sides since recent unrest heightened tensions between the countries. Calls for boycott have persisted in India, but the BCCI confirmed the team will play as per government policy.
