India won the 2nd Test at Lords by 151 runs with the combined efforts of the team. The partnership of Tailenders Mohammad Shami and Jasprit Bumrah made the match alive for India as it was completely dominated by England and the result was not looking in favour of India but the exceptional partnership of Unbeaten 89 runs helped India to set a Target of 271 which was quite impossible to achieve with remaining two sessions. The Indian bowlers with their exceptional deliveries got the team at 120 and grabbed the match.

India had a great start to the match with a record opening partnership of 126 and then the great show by K.L Rahul who became the third Indian opener to score a century in Lords against England. Rohit Sharma played an amazing knock of 83(145). Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant scored 42(103) and 40(120) and helped India to set 364 on the scoreboard as the tailenders suffered from an early collapse.

India was looking strong with a huge 364. India got some early wickets of Dominic Sibley 11(44) and Haseeb Hameed on a golden duck. As England score was 23-2 the captain Joe root comes to the crease and built a partnership of 85 runs with Rory burns and then the Root showed his class batting performance and scored 180*(321) and was unbeaten till the end and helped England to get a lead of 27 runs

India lost the key players Rahul, Rohit and Kohli at a score of 55 and the much-needed partnership of 100 runs came between Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara at a crucial moment of the match but Pujara lost his wicket at 45(206) and soon after Rahane got out at 61(146). India collapsed after this partnership and the scoreboard was 209-8 and then the real match turners came into the limelight as Shami and Bumrah delivered unbeaten 85 runs to the team with Shami scoring his personal best 56*(70) along with Bumrah scoring 34*(64) and the innings was declared 9 balls after the lunch.

For England, it was quite difficult to score 271 in just two sessions and India had a chance to grab the historic win. With an outstanding start India got the openers in the first two overs by Bumrah and Shami and then Wickets were taken at constant intervals and vanished at a score of 120 and celebrations were started all around the nation. Siraj was the highest wicket-taker in the match with getting 8 wickets whereas Ishant got 5 and Shami and Bumrah got 3 wickets each. KL Rahul was declared Man of the Match.
