The Indian cricket team is preparing for the upcoming Test series against West Indies with rigorous training and practice matches in Barbados.
Before the first Test in Dominica, scheduled to start on July 12, the team will arrive in batches and assemble for a camp by July 2. The players, including captain Rohit Sharma and others, who are currently in London, will join the team later.
This sequential arrival is due to the challenge of securing tickets to Barbados on large aircraft. The focus on red ball cricket has intensified after the disappointing loss in the World Test Championship Final.
The coaching staff, led by head coach Rahul Dravid, will also join the players in Barbados for a week-long training camp at Kensington Oval.
From there, the team will be privately chartered to Dominica for the Test series. The squad comprises a mix of experienced players like Ajinkya Rahane, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ravichandran Ashwin, as well as promising talents like Ruturaj Gaikwad and Yashasvi Jaiswal.
