The Indian team will be playing with full strength in the second ODI as three critical players, including vice-captain KL Rahul have returned to the squad for the 2nd ODI against team West Indies in Ahmedabad.
Vice-Captain KL Rahul was notably unavailable for the first ODI game as he had to attend his sister’s wedding. KL will possibly open with skipper Rohit Sharma in the second ODI. Ishan Kishan assisted the skipper for an 84-run stand in the first ODI but Ishan Kishan is not considered as a regular opener and with Rahul coming back the fans would expect the decision takers to open together.
Mayank Agarwal was also witnessed sweating in the net session of team India’s practice day as he along with Rahul has completed his quarantine after getting a call from team India as multiple cases of COVID-19 cases create an urgency of squad fulfillment.
Indian pacer Navdeep Saini was witnessed practicing in the optional practice day of team India for the ongoing series in Ahmedabad.
“Look who are here! The trio has joined the squad and sweated it out in the practice session today,” tweeted BCCI.
India and West Indies will be clashing for the 2nd ODI on February 9, Wednesday as India are a level up with the series score at 1-0. Ahmedabad will be witnessing the ODI series winner and teams will further travel to Kolkata to play the remaining T20-format games at the iconic Eden Gardens.
