
On Thursday, The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) requests the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to allow the spectators at Eden Gardens in Kolkata for the upcoming T20 series against West Indies starting from February 16.
As per ANI, CAB in a statement said that the matter relating to the hosting of the three T20 matches between India and West Indies were discussed threadbare.
It was informed to the members that the CAB has requested the BCCI for allowing spectators at the venue. The feedback from BCCI is yet to come.
The Apex Council meeting of CAB had also approved the decision that the floodlight system of the Eden Gardens requires renovation and the installation of an LED system at the earliest with the DMX facility.
Besides this, fixtures and tournament rules for the upcoming league tournaments for both first and second divisions were approved by the members and it was decided that it may release the fixtures immediately.
“The registration window for the players has been extended till 28 February 2022 keeping in mind the current relaxations accorded by the State Government so that it’s easier for the club, units, and also the players to come and complete their registration formalities,” CAB further said in an official statement as per ANI.
