The 2nd session finally belonged to India, with India taking four wickets before tea by just giving away 76 runs. South Africa is still trial by 47 runs. India would look forward to getting the rest of the wickets as soon as possible.
The only man standing in between India is Keegan Peterson; Peterson is batting at a score of 70 runs and is showing great class, but is not getting any support from the other end with Bumrah, Shami, and Umesh firing bolts.
Shami’s beautiful spell has supported Bumrah entirely and has bought India on track. Shami took crucial two wickets in three balls. First of Temba Bavuma (28), and then a perfect delivery to dismiss Kyle Verreynne. Shami was smashed for a boundary by a fantastic cover drive by Bavuma. Shami pulled his length by half on the next ball and surprised Bavuma with a classic delivery. Bavuma found the edge, and Virat dived on to his left to take a terrific catch to hold on to his 100th Test catch, becoming the sixth Indian fielder to do so.
Bumrah took the crucial wicket of Marco Jansen on last ball of the session. He breached Jansen’s defense by a fierce delivery. At the end of the 2nd session, the score was at 176 for 7, with Keegan Peterson batting at 72 runs. Other batsmen who supported Peterson were Keshav Maharaj(25) and Bavuma(28). Bumrah is leading from the front for India by taking three wickets. Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav have taken two wickets, respectively. India would try to stop South Africa from reaching the mark of 200.
