Ind vs SA: Bavuma and Dussen steal the show as India need 297 to win

Skipper Bavuma scored 110 and van der Dussen remains not out for 129*, taking South Africa to the score of 296-4

South African batsmen steal the show as skipper Bavuma leads with an example along with van der Dussen who stood not with a brilliant knock of 129. This is the second-highest fourth-wicket partnership against team India, as both, the show-stealers shared the pitch for 204 runs.

South Africa seemed to struggle at the start, but after Markram’s run out, the fourth wicket partnership didn’t stop. South Africa was 68-3 when India thought of dominating the first ODI and no sooner did the hosts play it the long way.

Captain Bavuma scored 110 off 143 with the strike rate of 76.92 and van der Dussen stood not out at 129* runs, playing just 96 balls. With 4 sixes and 9 fours, Dussen batted at the strike rate of 134.38.

Indian bowlers didn’t get much a help as only Bumrah was successful with the figures of 10-0-48-2. Both the spinners- Ashwin and Chahal went for 20 overs and gave 106 runs taking just a single wicket. Chahal, Bhuvneshwar, and Thakur go wicketless. Thakur got smashed for 72 runs. India had Venkatesh Iyer as the debutant and the 6th bowling option for team India but skipper Rahul seemed not to give him a single over.

With South Africa dominating the first innings, they are all set to win this first ODI by a great margin as Indian openers – skipper Rahul and Dhawan are ready to come out and probably play a memorable knock. 297 runs are needed and India has a long batting lineup. Both the teams are ready for the last 50 overs battle.
