South Africa tightened their grip on the second Test after off-spinner Simon Harmer removed Kuldeep Yadav and Dhruv Jurel in the same over, leaving India reeling at 43/4 in their steep chase of 549 runs on Day 5 in Guwahati.

Harmer first knocked over Kuldeep Yadav with a beautiful straighter delivery that went on with the angle, breaching the gap between bat and pad to uproot middle stump. Just three balls later, he dismissed Dhruv Jurel, who nicked a turning ball to Markram at slip. Jurel, caught on the outside edge, walked back for 2 as Harmer celebrated his third wicket of the innings.

India now depend on Sai Sudharsan (5 off 65) and Rishabh Pant (1 off 1) to steady a shaky chase, with South Africa dominating the morning session.
