IND vs SA 2021: Host’s absurd batting phase continues, while India have a chance

After the defeat in the first test match, the hosts still struggling with their absurd batting lineup.

IND vs SA 2021 – When the host had a chance to strengthen his grip in the match, he disappointed everyone with another shoddy performance. So far, India has not won any series on the host’s soil but it seems that history will probably be changed this time. The team needed a solid start when the hosts started their game on the morning of the second day.

Dean Elgar and Kegan Paterson brilliantly responded to India’s mighty bowling with their belligerent batting strikes and brought the hosts back into the match. But just before lunch, Shradul Thakur completely changed the course of the match. On the first day where the host had lost one wicket, within just 14 runs, the host lost the next 3 wickets and the scoreboard was 3 wickets for 102 runs after 88/1 at one stage.

Shradul Thakur almost broke the back of the host by dismissing Dean Elgar, Kegan Paterson and Rassie van Dusen in his short bowling phase. India was once disappointed with the batting which is playing without Virat Kohli. With the help of the innings of Rahul and Ravichandran Ashwin, India reached the 200-run mark by manipulating the innings.

Ajinkya Rahane, Cheteshwar Pujara and Vihari’s poor batting have raised questions about India’s cricketing mindset. Whether this is the end of Pujara and Ajinkya’s Test career might not be wrong to say. Repeated failures of a strong batting line-up might have cast doubt on his ability.

Can this batting order fight against any team without Virat Kohli? Time will answer and maybe the result of the match. Hosts have still a chance in the match as three days are more to go in the test match.
