A brief moment of concern for Pakistan as captain Fatima Sana appeared to have twisted her right ankle during her bowling spell against India in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 at R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.

The incident occurred early in India’s innings when Sana stopped mid-run and sat down, rolling her ankle as the physio rushed in for medical attention. She received on-field treatment, including spray and light taping, before resuming her over.

As per visuals from the field, Sana was seen testing her ankle’s movement, and after a short break, confirmed she was fit to continue bowling.

At the time of the break, India were 36/0 in 6.5 overs, with Smriti Mandhana batting on 13 (25) and Pratika Rawal on 22 (16). Pakistan had opted to bowl first after winning the toss.

Despite the brief interruption, the game soon resumed with Sana continuing her spell.
