India won the first t20 match against Ireland with 16 balls remaining after chasing 109 in 12 overs. Deepak Hooda took the initiative in the difficult chase with his unbroken 47 off 29 balls, and he put the game away with two consecutive boundaries off Joshua Little. Hooda and captain Hardik Pandya sewed a vital 32-ball 64 partnership for the third wicket to win the match for India. In the tenth over, Hooda and Dinesh Karthik led India to the target.
Ishan Kishan‘s lightning-quick 11-ball 26 at the top of the order set the tone for the chase. Kishan hammered Josh Little all over the park in the opening over, giving India a strong start in the chase. He appeared to be in grave shape before Young bowled a two-wicket over, dismissing Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav in quick succession.
The game was changed to a 12-overs-a-side contest after rain early on caused trouble. the Indian bowlers’ excellent start with the ball. Along with Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who demonstrated some deft swing bowling, Yuzvendra Chahal was also excellent with the ball.
However, Harry Tector played an astonishing knock of unbeaten 64 runs to help the hosts post a challenging total after losing their top three for 22. Tector played some glorious shots against the Indian bowlers who might have underestimated him.Despite losing early wickets, Tector and Lorcan Tucker kept their cool, and took Ireland to a challenging total of 108/4.
