England all-rounder Moeen Ali said he and his team are not sure that who they will get the wicket of Indian skipper Virat Kohli, as he won’t have any weakness. Moeen Ali and Virat Kohli play for the same franchise in IPL that is Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Moeen Ali was unable to join the team earlier in the month with a series against Sri Lanka as he tested positive for COVID-19. The all-rounder has now recovered and will be the part of the team for the upcoming Tests against India. England won the series against Sri Lanka by whitewashing them by 2-0 in their home ground.
Moeen Ali praised Kohli for his batting techniques and the dedication to the game.
“How do we get him out? He’s obviously an amazing player, world-class, he’s very motivated to do well, and I’m sure he’ll be even more motivated after they did well in Australia and he had to leave for the birth of his child. I don’t know how we’re going to get him out [specifically] because I don’t think he has any sort of weakness, but we have a good bowling attack, some pace in the line-up,” said Moeen Ali while in a virtual press conference.
Kohli missed the last three Tests against Australia as he was on paternity leave, still India managed to retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy under the leadership of Ajinkya Rahane. Virat Kohli will be back leading the Indian side against England which is scheduled to start from 5 February.
Ali is looking towards achieving the feat of 200 wickets in Test cricket as he has 181 wickets in his name so far. He said that he is looking to achieve ‘small targets’ he has set himself for in the upcoming series.
“I still feel I’ve got wickets and runs in me and match-winning performances within me. I have little targets I want to achieve first. I am not too far away from getting 200 wickets. I know people say they don’t look at these things, but it would be something I would look at. Then I would set another target after that,” Ali said.
