On day two of the Chattogram Test, India did well with the ball as Mohammed Siraj claimed the wickets of three of the top four batters. Coming out to bowl, team India changed the game as they were successful in bagging two early wickets of the hosts, forcing them to play under pressure. With debutant Zakir and experienced batter Litton, Bangladesh will be putting up high hopes. Umesh Yadav bowled out Yasir Ali, giving team India their second quick wicket after Mohammed Siraj’s magical delivery forced Shanto to walk back with a golden duck. Litton Das made a counterattack threat, even hitting Umesh Yadav for three straight fours, but after sparring with Siraj verbally, he too was knocked down. When Bangladesh was at 56/4, Siraj had debutant Zakir Hasan nicking behind.
Siraj said that he developed a new weapon in 2018, as he had lost the ability to find inward movement back into the right-hander.
“In 2018 the incoming deliveries had completely stopped. At that time my outswing was working better,” he said in the presser. “So I was a bit confused as to why my in-swingers weren’t working. Then I decided to use the wobble seam because incoming deliveries are always a problem for batsmen. Because outswing is visible more clearly for the batsmen but when it comes in then it becomes difficult for the batsmen. So I used the wobble seam because it is quite effective like an off-cutter, I trust it more because I get success from it,” he added.
