Due to a fractured finger, Australian all-rounder Cameron Green will not be able to play the first test game against India in Nagpur ( Maharashtra ) on 9th February 2022.

Australian Vice Captain Steve Smith stated “I don’t think he’s even faced fast bowlers yet. So I dare say he won’t be playing but who knows. I’m not entirely sure. We’ll wait and see”. He further said “It’s unlikely, I think.”

This came after the fast baller missed the first net training section in Nagpur.

The injury crisis for the Aussie side goes bad to worse with the team having to now play without Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood and Cameron Green.

The Border Gavaskar Trophy is a bit of a concern for both the teams because of the injury issues of some of the top performing players, and such consequences will be critical for both the dominating teams which will impact their position for the World Test Championship.
