Australia’s disciplined start with the new ball was slightly marred by two wasted DRS reviews within the first 68 balls of India’s innings during the 2nd ODI at Adelaide Oval. Both calls came against Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, and both ended up being overturned after close inspection.

The first review came when Josh Hazlewood appealed confidently for an LBW after Rohit attempted a leg-side flick. Initially, Snicko displayed a spike near the bat, suggesting an inside edge, but replays soon contradicted that — showing the ball had hit both pads without any clear contact with the bat. The decision stayed ‘Not Out’, leaving Australia one review down early in the innings.

Moments later, Hazlewood convinced his captain for another review — this time after hearing a sound as Rohit attempted a back-foot punch. The delivery seamed in sharply and struck near the thigh pad, producing a faint noise that turned out to be off Rohit’s back pocket, not the bat. With four seconds left on the DRS timer, Australia went upstairs — only for Snicko to show nothing.

As a result, Australia lost both their reviews inside 12 overs, leaving them with none for the rest of India’s innings.

Hazlewood, visibly frustrated, shared a smile with Rohit as technology confirmed his misfortune twice in quick succession. The Indian captain, meanwhile, continued to grind through a challenging spell, scoring 19 off 43 deliveries at that stage.
