Indian cricket team lost the first T20I series against New Zealand which was played in Ranchi on Friday, 27th January. It wasn’t a good performance from the host in the first game of the series as they lost by 21 runs in the end.

The bowling performance was also not upto the mark and the batting was poor too. Indian team were feeling the pressure in the first game against New Zealand despite winning the ODI series by 3-0 recently. Indian team’s top order batters Ishan Kishan, Shubman Gill, and Rahul Tripathi were back to pavilion inside 6 overs. Despite this loss, there was one positive for India to take from this first T20I against New Zealand.

All-rounder Washington Sundar had a great game. He bowled an amazing spell, giving just 22 runs in his 4 overs also taking 2 crucial wickets. Not only with ball, but he scored a half-century in the game and nearly won it for India. Sundar completed his 50 in just 28 balls. He hit 5 fours and 3 sixes in his spectacular innings but was dismissed by Lockie Ferguson in the end.
