In the recently concluded fourth Test match between India and Australia, Cameroon Green, the young Australian all-rounder, scored his maiden Test century. The innings was particularly impressive as it came against the Indian bowling attack, widely regarded as one of the best in the world. The performance did not go unnoticed, and Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was quick to praise the young cricketer.
In an interview, Ashwin described Green as an “once in a generation cricketer”. He went on to explain that Green’s technique and temperament at the crease were exceptional, and that his innings had showcased his immense potential. Cameroon Green scored 114 runs in the Narendra Modi Stadium, Gujarat which took their score to 480 runs in the first innings.
Green’s innings had indeed been remarkable as he combined with opening batter Usman Khawaja to put on a crucial partnership. Green had batted with confidence and composure, playing some delightful shots and showing that he had the temperament to succeed at the highest level.
