India goes through to the ICC U-19 World Cup Super League Semi-Finals by winning the fourth quarter-finals of the tournament against team Bangladesh by 5 wickets.
India comfortably chased the target of 112 runs but lost 5 silly wickets giving team Bangladesh some hope in the middle of the clash but Angkrish Raghuvanshi’s 44 runs knock made the win stronger for team India.
Yash Dhull came back to the playing XI as the U-19 appointment captain for team India was suffering from COVID-19 and made an absolute comeback by leading the team to reach the Semi-Finals.
India bowled Bangladesh out in 111 runs in just 37.1 overs. India initiated the bowling by Hangargekar and Ravi where Hangargekar managed to scare the batsmen with his stunning pace while Ravi played with the swing in the air and was benefited by taking wickets for team India.
Ravi gave an early breakthrough by taking down the openers followed by P N Nabil. Hangargekar bowled beautifully but was able to bag in a single wicket during his second spell as the pacer took the last wicket of team Bangladesh.
Spinner Vicky Ostwal took 2 wickets in the game while Angkrish and Kaushal bagged in one wicket each.
Bangladesh were 56-7 but SM Meherob tried to build a partnership by scoring 30 runs coming down the order but he too failed to stand against the dominating team India.
It was an easy chase for team India but Bangladesh fans hoped for a game-changing moment as Bangladesh managed to send at least half of the team back to the pavilion. Harnoor Singh and Raj Bawa got out for 0 runs while Angkrish helped team India with a solid start.
The game was finished by a six from Kaushal Tambe’s bat while captain Dhull stood not out scoring 20 runs. Ravi’s bowling helped team India to dominate the quarter-finals as he was awarded the Man of the Match award.
Team India will now meet Australia in the semi-finals on February 2. Team India have successfully won all the games in this tournament till now.
