The much-awaited schedule for the World Cup 2023 has finally been confirmed to be unveiled in Mumbai on June 27, signaling the 100-day countdown to the prestigious event.
The release of the schedule has been marred by the longstanding tensions between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), causing frustration among fans. The ongoing conflict between the two cricket bodies has created uncertainty surrounding the approval of the draft schedule sent by the International Cricket Council (ICC) to the PCB.
Najam Sethi, who recently stepped down as the interim Chairman of the PCB, clarified that the decision to approve or disapprove the schedule lies with the government, similar to India’s government deciding their participation in the tournament. As cricket enthusiasts eagerly await the unveiling, the World Cup 2023 promises to be a highly anticipated and exciting event for cricket fans worldwide.
