The schedule for Pakistan’s matches in the upcoming 2023 ODI World Cup has been released by the ICC. Unlike other teams playing across 10 venues in India, Pakistan will have their nine group-stage matches in only five cities.
They will start their campaign against the qualifiers in Hyderabad before facing India in a highly anticipated match in Ahmedabad. The team will then play matches against Australia, Afghanistan, and South Africa in Bengaluru and Chennai.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had made two requests regarding venue allocations, including a swap between the Australia and Afghanistan games, but both requests were denied.
The PCB also expressed their unwillingness to play in Mumbai due to security concerns. If Pakistan qualifies for the semi-finals and the venue is Mumbai, it will be changed to Kolkata.
