The International Cricket Council (ICC), which is organising the inaugural ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa, released the full itinerary on Friday, September 16.
16 teams will compete in the multi-nation tournament over the course of 15 days, with a total of 41 games being played. On January 14, 2023, the big tournament is expected to start, and January 29, 2023, is when it will conclude. Additionally, January 30, 2023, has been retained as a backup date for the finals.
The multi-nation tournament’s Super Six stage is slated to begin on January 20, 2023, while the semi-finals are scheduled for January 27, 2023. Additionally, the 16 practise matches will be played between January 9 and January 11 in Johannesburg and Tshwane.
Speaking of locations, the full competition will take place in Benoni and Potchefstroom. Notably, Benoni and Potchefstroom also served as the hosts of the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2020.
