The Premier League football team Manchester United used a photo of former England captain Kevin Pietersen to help generate interest in the T20 World Cup, which is presently taking place in Australia. However, when Pietersen urged them to remove the post and criticised the team and its manager Erik ten Hag for the way they treated Cristiano Ronaldo, things got heated. Pietersen’s statement caused the post to be removed.

“It’s T20 World Cup. We’ve welcomed cricketing legends, played at icc venues and met up with plenty of heroes over the years,” Manchester United posted.

“Please take my picture down? I don’t want an association with a club that’s managed by a clown who is completely disrespecting the greatest footballer of our time! Cristiano is the BOSS. That clown who no one will remember, needs a wake up!” – Kevin commeneted.
