Hong Kong, Friday, Nov 7: Pakistan’s Muhammad Shahzad turned the game on its head with two wickets in three deliveries, rocking India’s top order in their Pool C clash at Mission Road Ground, Mong Kok.
After dismissing Robin Uthappa for a fiery 28 off 11 balls (2 fours, 3 sixes), Shahzad struck again almost immediately — this time removing Stuart Binny for 4 off 2 balls.
Bowling a clever slower delivery on a length outside off, Shahzad deceived Binny, who attempted a wild slog across the line. The ball caught the leading edge and looped back toward the bowler, who sprinted forward to complete a sharp caught and bowled dismissal.
The double strike left India at 46/2 in 2.5 overs, after a blazing start. Shahzad’s spell has completely changed the momentum, bringing Pakistan back into the contest with his variations and sharp control.
The quick wickets of Uthappa and Binny have now put the pressure on skipper Dinesh Karthik to steady the innings as the high-voltage India-Pakistan clash continues in the Hong Kong Super Sixes 2025.
