Pakistan stormed into the semifinals of the Hong Kong Sixes 2025 in stunning fashion, defeating South Africa by five wickets thanks to a breathtaking finish from Abdul Samad. The explosive batter smashed five consecutive sixes off Jordan Morris to seal the victory in style and remain unbeaten on 50 off just 10 balls — a strike rate of 500.

Chasing 103 for victory, Pakistan needed a big over to stay alive, and Samad delivered one of the most destructive cameos of the tournament. After a quiet start, he unleashed a barrage of sixes — clearing every part of the Mission Road Ground in Mong Kok. His monstrous hitting turned the game on its head, leaving the Proteas shell-shocked as Pakistan completed the chase with ease in just 3.5 overs.

Earlier, South Africa had posted 102/3 in their six overs, with Ethan John Cunningham (29 off 10) and Blake Simpson (26 off 9) leading the charge. However, their efforts were overshadowed by Samad’s brutal finishing display.

Pakistan’s captain Abbas Afridi praised the team’s composure under pressure, calling Samad’s innings “one of the cleanest hitting displays you’ll ever see in sixes cricket.”

With this victory, Pakistan advance to the semifinals, riding high on confidence and power-packed performances.
