Earlier in the day, India lost to Kuwait by 27 runs, chasing 107 but managing only 79/6 in 5.4 overs. The team later faced UAE in a must-win encounter but again fell short, as UAE chased down 107 in 5.5 overs to win by four wickets.
Despite showing flashes of brilliance in their previous outing, where India had defeated Pakistan on Thursday in a rain-affected thriller decided by the DLS method, the team couldn’t sustain momentum in the crucial group-stage matches.
With just one win from three games, India finished their group stage campaign on a low, while UAE and Kuwait advanced further in the competition. The back-to-back losses marked a premature exit for India, who failed to replicate their dominant form from the previous day’s win over Pakistan.
