Hardik Pandya creates historic record as he dismisses Fakhar Zaman – Know the milestone

Dubai, September 21 — Hardik Pandya once again proved to be India’s go-to man against Pakistan, striking early in the Asia Cup 2025 Super Four clash by removing opener Fakhar Zaman for 15.

With this wicket, Pandya etched his name into the record books. He now has 15 wickets in just eight innings against Pakistan in T20 internationals — the most by any bowler in India-Pakistan T20I encounters. Significantly, he has never gone wicketless against Pakistan across these eight innings, highlighting his consistency in the high-voltage rivalry.

Fakhar’s dismissal came off an off-cutter from Pandya that took the edge and was taken low by Sanju Samson behind the stumps. Though the decision sparked controversy and an umpire review, the third umpire confirmed the catch was clean. Fakhar, visibly frustrated, had to walk back, leaving Pakistan at 21/1.

This historic feat adds another chapter to Pandya’s dominance over Pakistan, further cementing his reputation as a big-match performer for India.
